Documentary Photography Workshop

Workshop with Kai Löffelbein

Kai Löffelbein, Kids of Sodom

During the festival German freelance photographer Kai Löffelbein will lead a documentary photography workshop in Tbilisi. He has worked on various long term projects mainly about global injustice in South America, Asia and Africa. Photographers interested in improving their visual storytelling skills and mastering their personal style are invited to join the intensive two days experience.

The workshop will be divided into a theoretical and a practical part.

We will learn how to find a good documentary issue and how to approach. Kai will talk about 'Ctrl-X' , his project about the global e-waste trail, and share his knowledge how to realize long term projects. Furthermore the participants will increase their understanding of how to construct a coherent visual story.

All participants will be given a shooting assignment so that everyone will leave the workshop with a new photo-story. This could be e.g. an essay about a specific person, an interesting area or a portrait of a street in Tbilisi. More advanced photographers are encouraged to find their own issue. To develop a photo story close to your personal vision you will attend one on one editing and critique sessions with Kai Löffelbein.

Whether you are a beginner, an enthusiast, or a professional, Kai invites you to join.
