Moments Reflected

Workshop with Øyvind Hjelmen

Øyvind Hjelmen

This workshop will aim at improving your personal approach to photography. How to look for your personal expression, or to develop it further. In two days a small step can start a long journey, and sometimes those small steps are more important than you may think.

Participants are invited to bring 5-10 prints (even if you will work digitally) for critique, on the first day. This is the best way for me to get to know your work. We will look at different photographers´approaches to their works, and I will also make a small presentation of my own works. This input will be the basis for discussions around what we do when we attempt to tell a story –our story – in such a way that others can relate to it, and perhaps even recognise some parts of themselves in it. And of course, the most important part of any workshop is to work.

In the afternoon there will be plenty time to photograph, and we will meet for a short time in the late afternoon / early evening to discuss any challenges that may have occurred, before work may continue.

On day two we start with feedback on the previous day´s work. Then we continue along the lines of yesterday, with a balance of input, discussions, work, and final feedback.
