Portrait Workshop

with Thekla Ehling

Thekla Ehling, from series: Vergrßmeinnicht

The basis of the workshop is a joint discussion and evaluation of the images the participants bring along. Thekla Ehling has gained a lot of experience in the field of portraits photography through her various artistic projects and commissioned work for magazines. She will be able to give valuable advices and help the participants in developing their own vision of people. In the practical part of the workshop the group will scout for places that are suitable for portraits. Different key aspects of a shooting as the ideal light, a strong expression, a fitting background and the use of the depth of field to integrate the portrayed person in his environment are being discussed and worked on by the participants. The resulting portraits are being discussed and analyzed together. Especially when shooting people a perfect edit and the right choice of images are crucial. Often you have to find that one picture that combines all abovementioned aspects into an image that is able to convince the viewer.
